GloveBox is designed to help you store and manage vehicle information and documents (including photos and PDFs) in one place.
We take privacy seriously and aim to be transparent about what we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it.
This Privacy Policy applies to the GloveBox mobile app and our website (together, the “Services”).
2. Who We Are (Data Controller)
“GloveBox”, “we”, “us”, and “our” refers to the operator of the Services. Where we determine how and why your personal data is processed,
we act as the “data controller” under UK data protection law.

Depending on how you use GloveBox, we may collect:

3.2 Information collected automatically
- Device and app information (e.g. device model, operating system version, app version, language/region, and time zone).
- Usage information (e.g. feature usage, screens viewed, actions taken, and basic diagnostic information).
- Log and error data (e.g. crash reports, performance data, and troubleshooting logs where available).
3.3 Information from third parties
- App stores (Apple App Store / Google Play) may provide subscription and purchase status information needed to operate paid features.
We do not receive your full payment card details.
- Authentication providers (if used) may provide information necessary to sign you in (e.g. token identifiers).
4. App Permissions (Camera, Photos, Files, Notifications)
GloveBox may request access to certain device features to provide core functionality. You can usually control these permissions in your device settings.
- Camera – to capture photos of documents or vehicle-related images.
- Photo library / media – to select existing images.
- Files / storage – to upload PDFs and save or view your documents.
- Notifications – to send reminder notifications (e.g. upcoming renewal dates) if you enable them.
If you choose not to grant certain permissions, some features (such as taking a photo or receiving reminders) may not work.
5. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide the Services – including account access, storing and organising your vehicle data and documents, and enabling sharing/export where offered.
- Process uploads – storing photos and PDFs you upload, generating previews where needed, and keeping your associated metadata.
- Enable reminders – showing in-app reminders and (if enabled) sending device notifications.
- Improve and maintain GloveBox – fixing bugs, monitoring performance, and improving reliability and user experience.
- Communicate with you – including important service messages, security notices, responses to support queries, and (where you opt in) newsletters or product updates.
- Security and fraud prevention – protecting accounts, preventing unauthorised access, and enforcing our terms.
- Legal compliance – meeting legal obligations, responding to lawful requests, and protecting our rights.

Documents you upload (photos and PDFs) may be stored in encrypted storage and linked to your account so you can view them inside the app.

We do not sell your personal data.

- Service providers (processors) – trusted vendors that help us operate the Services (e.g. hosting, storage, email delivery, analytics, crash reporting).
They are permitted to process data only to provide services to us and must protect it.

- With your direction – when you choose to share/export a document (e.g. saving a PDF, sharing a file, or sending a document to another app).

- Account data – typically retained while your account remains active.
- Uploaded documents (photos/PDFs) – retained until you delete them or you close your account, subject to backup retention.
- Backups – deleted data may persist for a limited period in backup systems before being fully removed.
